During the overnight hours of August 7, 2026, into August 8, 2026, the Bartlett Police Department, in partnership with the South Elgin Police Department and Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office, conducted a Roadside Safety Check for northbound Illinois Route 25 traffic approaching West Bartlett Road.

A total of 622 vehicles passed through the Roadside Safety Check. The detail resulted in the following enforcement activity:

• 7 DUI arrests
• 5 warrant arrests
• 14 No Valid Driver’s License violations
• 6 Driving While License Suspended/Revoked violations, all stemming from prior DUI-related suspensions or revocations

“My office was proud to join forces with Bartlett PD and South Elgin PD for this successful initiative to improve safety on our roadways,” said Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser. “Thank you to the police officers and assistant state’s attorneys who made this operation possible. The fact that officers arrested 7 impaired drivers in one night is very concerning. These roadside checks should remind every driver that disregard for the law is disregard for life. I urge everyone to make the right choice. Don’t be a careless driver, and don’t drink and drive. If you do, you will be caught.”

The Bartlett Police Department thanks the South Elgin Police Department and Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office for their partnership and assistance with the details and reminds motorists that impaired driving is preventable. Motorists are encouraged to plan, designate a sober driver, or arrange for alternate transportation before consuming alcohol or other impairing substances.
