Monday, 1/5/2026 - It is with deep sadness that the Village of Bartlett announces the passing of retired Bartlett Police K-9 Luther #102.  Luther was a loyal and dedicated member of the police department, who served the residents of Bartlett from June 2014 through August 2023.

Throughout his years of service, Luther demonstrated unwavering courage, professionalism, and devotion to duty. He played a vital role in protecting the community and supporting his fellow officers, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who had the honor of working alongside him.

Heartfelt sympathy is extended to Luther’s handler (retired Officer Mike Kmiecik) and everyone whose lives Luther touched. His service and sacrifice will not be forgotten, and his legacy will remain a proud part of Bartlett’s history.

Rest in peace, K-9 Luther. Thank you for your faithful service.
