Thursday, 10/23/2025 - The Bartlett Police Department is aware that recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activities in nearby areas have raised questions and concerns within the community.
The Police Department reassures all Bartlett residents, employees and guests that its mission is centered on safety, service and trust. Officers are committed to protecting every member of the community, regardless of immigration status and will do so by focusing on local and state laws, crime prevention and community partnerships.
In accordance with the Illinois TRUST Act, the Bartlett Police Department does not engage in or assist with federal immigration enforcement activities, and does not take action based solely on an individual's immigration status. ICE operates independently under federal jurisdiction, and the department is not informed of or involved in their operations unless required by law or when a specific public safety matter demands Bartlett PD's attention.
The Police Department wants every resident and visitor to feel safe reporting crime, suspicious behavior, or any situation that threatens their well-being, without fear of immigration consequences. Public safety depends on trust, communication and cooperation from everyone in the community.
Anyone seeking information about immigration enforcement or legal assistance is encouraged to contact ICE directly or reach out to local legal aid or advocacy organizations that specialize in immigration matters.
