Tuesday, 8/6/2024 - During the month of July, Bartlett Police Department partnered with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), the Illinois State Police and more than 200 local law enforcement agencies to step up enforcement efforts across the state in an effort to reduce speeding.

The police department conducted 26 hours of specialized traffic enforcement to target speeding offenses, which resulted in 54 vehicles being stopped for traffic violations:

Misdemeanor Offenses

• Two motorists were charged with aggravated speeding 26-34 mph over the posted limit.
• One motorist was charged with aggravated speeding 35+ mph over the posted limit.
• One motorist was charged with possession of adult use cannabis in a motor vehicle.

Citations

• 46 citations for speeding violations.
• 4 citations for other moving or non-moving violations.
