4TH OF JULY TRAFFIC ADVISORY
The Bartlett Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza at Apple Orchard Park (S. Bartlett & Stearns roads) is on Thursday, 7/4. The fireworks are scheduled to start at 9:15 p.m. and finish at approximately 9:45 p.m. Drones may be used at the event for the safety of everyone attending and will be flown in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations.
The Bartlett Police Department will be helping to direct traffic at certain intersections along South Bartlett Road and Stearns Road immediately following the fireworks. Due to the large number of vehicles and pedestrians, drivers in the vicinity of Apple Orchard Park will experience heavy traffic congestion and increased travel times.
All vehicles exiting onto South Bartlett Road north of Stearns Road will be directed northbound towards Devon Avenue. All vehicles exiting onto South Bartlett Road south of Stearns Road will be directed southbound towards Schick Road. All vehicles exiting onto Stearns Road west of South Bartlett Road will be directed westbound towards IL Route 59. All vehicles exiting onto Stearns Road east of South Bartlett Road will be directed eastbound towards County Farm Road.
On Thursday, 7/4, several residential streets in close proximity to Apple Orchard Park will have temporary no-parking restrictions to allow police and fire vehicles to respond to emergency calls for service.
PARADE TRAFFIC ADVISORY
The Bartlett Lions Club Independence Day Parade is on Saturday, 7/6, starting at 10 a.m. in the area of North Avenue and S. Oak Avenue. The parade will travel south on S. Oak Avenue, S. Main Street, and South Bartlett Road, west on Stearns Road, and finish at the Apple Orchard Golf Course on Stearns Road. It is expected to last approximately two hours. Drones may be used at the event for the safety of everyone attending and will be flown in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations.
Bartlett Police will be providing traffic assistance. No vehicles will be allowed on the parade route during this time, including library and park district patrons trying to enter or leave the Bartlett Public Library, Bartlett Aquatic Center or Bartlett Community Center. All traffic will be detoured around the designated parade route during the event.
