Monday, 6/3/2024 - At 10 a.m. on Saturday, 6/15, the village will hold a ribbon-cutting to formally dedicate the new Bartlett Community Garden, located at Koehler Field, 2235 Southwind Boulevard. The 2024 planting season will be the inaugural year for the garden.

The idea for a community garden in Bartlett started in early 2023, at the village board’s strategic planning meeting. Trustees think that this initiative will provide gardeners with the opportunity to enjoy their hobby in a common space with fellow community members who share an enthusiasm for gardening.

Midwest Compost generously donated 38 yards of compost, which was tilled into the garden. Bartlett Public Works prepared the garden plots for planting, identified each plot with a number and made sure water is accessible to gardeners.

Most plots measure 4 feet by 12 feet with some raised beds available for seniors age 65-plus and those who need an accommodation for accessibility purposes. Beds are rented out for a nominal fee on a first come, first served basis, and a few plots are still available.
