Pies are as American as pizza: we took a great idea, adapted it to our needs and ran with it. You might be thinking that pies are just for dessert, but for our American ancestors, they were often survival food - eaten for breakfast, lunch and dinner for months at a time.
Everyone is invited to attend the presentation, “History of American Pies...and Illinois is well Represented!” hosted by the Bartlett History Museum on Wednesday, 9/10, at 7 p.m. Catherine Lambrecht, Grand Champion and Best of Show at the Lake County Fair for her apple pie, will be the presenter.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for refreshments, with a 6:45 p.m. pre-program by the museum. Lambrecht’s presentation begins at 7 p.m. Registration is required for this free event. Email your name, the number of attendees and your phone number to Pam,
